What changes when your Markdown draft becomes real work?
By KenRich · Published: October 11, 2026
A practical look at keeping the source file, finding your place in a long document, changing tables safely, recovering earlier versions, and preparing a document for delivery.
When a draft becomes work
You start with a short Markdown note. A few hours later, it has headings, copied tables, code examples, images, and several changes you are no longer sure about.
VeloWrite 0.4.2 is built around that moment. It does not try to turn Markdown into a hosted workspace. It makes the file you already own easier to navigate, revise, recover, and deliver.
Keep the source file
VeloWrite Desktop opens ordinary Markdown files and saves them in place. An account manages billing, license recovery, and activated devices; signing in does not move the document into a VeloWrite cloud store.
Keep your place in a long document
The outline, semantic split scrolling, Back and Forward navigation, and quick marks help you inspect another section and return without searching for your writing position again.
Edit tables without punctuation repair
The visual table editor changes the cells and applies one undoable Markdown replacement. Smart paste can convert a rectangular spreadsheet range while the Markdown remains portable.
Understand history before restore
Local history shows additions and removals before Restore. Export HTML, PDF, or DOCX while keeping the Markdown source you will edit tomorrow.
Try the workflow for ten minutes
Open a local file, jump to another heading, edit a table, inspect History, and export a review copy. VeloWrite Desktop includes a 14-day evaluation, followed by monthly, yearly, or lifetime licensing for up to 10 computers.
